We're Getting our new home wired for the future with OnQ!

In the 21st century, accessing multiple information services in the home will become as common as the fireplace.  Preparing for this reality, we are going to make our home 21st-century compliant by wiring it to support high-speed data access throughout the house, as well as support for up to 4 voice lines, and video.


We are buying two OnQ packages:  The Basic OnQ TV and Phone system (below-left), and the OnQ Home Network system (below-right).  They both use the same OnQ Panel (left) to create a single, enclosed, access point for all home wiring.

What we're getting:

  • 6 Video/Cable outlets
  • 6 Phone outlets (CAT-5 phone cables, enabling up to 4 phone lines at any jack)
  • 5 Data outlets (CAT-5 data cables, enabling up to 100 megabit bandwidth
  • 8 Port 10/100base-T network hub
  • All terminated in a case downstairs (picture to the left)

  • Covered "Office Hideout Plates" for Phone/Video/Data in a covered wall outlet
  • 8 port 100 Base-T ethernet hub
